How Taking Care of Myself Made Me a Better Parent

Hi parents,

Like many of you, I used to feel guilty taking time for myself. Between school runs, cooking, work, and bedtime routines — there wasn’t much energy left for me. But recently, I realized something important: my kids watch everything I do. And if I don’t show them what self-care and strength look like, who will?

That’s when I started attending structured fitness classes at The Olympus Projects — a Manchester-based studio offering themed group programs like Agoge and Aphrodite’s Quest. They run on 8–12 week cycles, and the routine helped me get my energy, confidence, and structure back.

The best part? My kids noticed. They saw me waking up with purpose. They even started stretching with me in the mornings!

It reminded me that:
