Anywhere in Abu Dhabi that actually road force balances instead of just regular balancing
Had my tyres balanced twice now at two different shops and I'm still getting this subtle shimmy through the steering wheel between 100 and 120 km/h that I can't seem to shake, and I'm starting to think the issue is that everyone just does a standard spin balance and calls it a day without checking whether the wheel and tyre combination has excessive road force variation. My front Michelins still have plenty of tread but I'm wondering if one of them has a stiff spot in the sidewall or the rim has a slight bend that won't show up on a regular balancer, and from what I understand you need a Hunter road force machine to actually diagnose that properly. I asked a couple of places if they do road force balancing and they looked at me like I was speaking a different language, which was a bit discouraging. Before I drive all the way to Dubai on a weekend goose chase I figured I'd ask if anyone knows a BMW Garage here that actually has the proper equipment and knows how to use it, since I'd rather not buy a new set of tyres only to discover the problem was something else entirely. Also if you've had this exact steering wheel shimmy and solved it with a proper road force balance, I'd love to hear whether it was night and day or just a minor improvement.
